Alessandro Ax Lanzafame

For more than two decades, Alessandro AX Lanzafame has dedicated his life to the craft of traditional tattooing, building a reputation for bold, timeless tattoos inspired by the roots of classic American Traditional. Born in Sicily and shaped by years of life in England, Alessandro has spent over 20 years refining his style while working across the UK and Europe. His journey has taken him through London, Manchester, Birmingham, the Lake District, Glasgow, Amsterdam, and both the North and South of France before returning to Sicily to establish The Travellers Tattoo in Catania, a studio that has become a respected destination for traditional tattooing. For many years, Alessandro worked throughout Buckinghamshire, dividing his time between his own private studio and Township Tattoo, where he built a loyal clientele and further developed his reputation for bold, honest tattooing. He later continued his journey in London, working with the renowned The Family Business Tattoo before joining King’s Cross Tattoo Parlour. Alessandro’s work has also been featured through collaborations with Tattoo Punks, Tattoo Master, and several international tattoo publications and tribute books, recognising his commitment to preserving the heritage of traditional tattooing. Today, Alessandro is preparing for the next chapter of his career with the opening of The Lion’s Gate Tattoo Studio in Luton, England. The studio represents the culmination of everything he has learned over two decades in the industry—a welcoming space dedicated to honest craftsmanship, traditional values, custom artwork, and a genuine passion for tattooing. The Lion’s Gate isn’t just another tattoo studio—it’s the home of tattoos with attitude, built on experience, tradition, and a lifelong commitment to the art of tattooing.
